AGILE … Scrum is including as one of the methods for Agile development, along with more software orientated activities which have other methods that I am reading about such as extreme programming.

I have having a little trouble with some of the Agile methods looking like re-jigged old concepts being wrapped in buzz words and am still trying to figure out how the content is actually different however. There may be something in these mothods though.

3D sharks – IMAX

The IMAX … not been for a long time, so 3D sharks attracted my attention … the ticket lady seemed amused by question is it full, the guy showing me in seemed surprised I had turned up … and the cinema … well I was the only person for the showing. Very sad, and made me think what the IMAX needs are some shows for older than kids for these late showings. The film was for kids – introduced by a turtle, the 3D effect did work well at times like when floating through a huge field of tiny jellyfish, but at other times my eyes just gave up. The sharks were discussed as being extremely benign, not the killers of the sea we normally see … somehow it wasn’t quite JAWS and a little dissappointing, and also expensive at £6.50 for a 3/4 hr show. Having said that, the sensation of being underwater in an almost working 3d landscape was pretty good, and I just hope they don’t keep providing toned down features – it could have been so much better if aimed a little older.

Sleater Kinney

Sleater Kinney – on very early at Cockpit – missed support … after false start, with some general discussion band launched into set. Little chat, but power, duelling guitars (many years before Libertines) … and interacting voices. Some later tracks guitars facing the drum kit and just playing with no vocal. A number of new tracks for me … good band
