What people put themselves through for a soggy fish

Sin City

Finally got to see Sin City – after missing for weeks at cinema as only on as late show, got on DVD. Gruesome but not so horrific that it was revolting. Yes – it was reminiscent of adult comics and good in that way. The three stories were all pretty good, but for some reason I liked the Mickey Rourke one the best. Wasn’t too keen on the first one being split into two parts, don’t see why they couldn’t have just had the three stories side by side, no need to try and link them together in the bar.

Its all gone Pete Tong

Gotta break the Monday 7pm snooze attack – got out ‘Its all gone Pete Tong’ – that’ll keep me awake – and it did … some hilarious moments – thought it was all gonna go from bad to worse, but somehow it had a happy ending -ah!

Euro Visions Exhibition - Pompidou

My faves :

Peter Marlow - 2 sides of Cyprus’s divide – like style
Donavon Wylie – first work seen since traveller pics. Pics were of people on ‘pavement’ catwalk – them, their clothes, their expressions walking unaware (maybe). Estonia
Mark Power - Mix of empty spaces ‘waiting to be populated’ and full length portraits – good stuff. Poland
Lise Safarti - girls waiting for new life to begin? – slideshow with spooky drifts of conversation. Lithuania

Interrail France

Paris – what can I say that hasn’t been said – nice polar bear in Orsay – La Defense, French style urban landscape
Annecy – Windermere in the Alps
St Gervais - Quiet alpine town – kind of nice when I was there
Chamonix – High level alpine walks – fantastic
Argentiere - really needed those new shorts when mine developed large arse rip
Chambery – overhyped and disappointing
St Raphael - fogey med beach resort, but I liked it – open air photo exhibition good idea
Antibes - serious hotel shortage, old town beautiful, new town urgh, beaches better away from Nice end
Juan Les Pins - ‘party town’ couldn’t find the party, beach beautiful if crowded
Avignon – struggling to be charmed, but had its moments
Paris Montmartre - sauman quiche mmm felafel mmm cerise tart mmm
